Come play at the circus

Life can feel like a circus sometimes, so why not just hop on the wagon? Or elephant as Reese did in the photoshoot below.  I want to go to the circus. With Reese Witherspoon.

Peace.

Back on the road today. 4 weeks out of 44.. We're getting there.  This week I'm praying for solace from the crazyness that often comes by Monday morning.  Praying that I catch up on work, and maybe even get ahead - ah how nice that would be! Praying for all of you out there tonight, too.

I have a confession..

well, it's more of an obsession.  I love mustaches.  Not necessarily on people (though some people can truly rock 'em), but more on paraphernalia - mugs, sticks, glasses, etc.

Here are few items we own and have in our home.

I'm currently eyeing these guys:

What will I use them for? I have absolutely no idea.  Maybe we'll have a random party this summer that necessitates something of this nature. If you have a wedding coming up, I recommend purchasing them.  You can use them for entertaining guests.  My friend Brett, a wedding photographer, uses them for his live booth, which I think is priceless.

It's all good.

This week has been semi-crazy.  If I counted the number of emails I sent and received ( Actually, I did, but just don't want to share publicly ) along with being in 5 hours worth of meetings.. well, you get the point. Honestly, I kind of enjoy it.  If I'm going to be out of town, I better at least be busy.

But, what keeps my head above waters most is the realization that I don't have control over it all.  God does.  I have no idea what stress I would be under, how captivated by fear I would be, if I thought that I could control everything. Family, job, life, finances, future?  That is simply way too much for one person to handle.  But God?  He's a big God who can handle everything and who does it with such pleasure.  Did you know it pleases Him to run our lives?  Because He knows what will be satisfying, glorifying to Him, and right for us.  This is all something I have to remind myself of daily, by the moment even.  Tomorrow I'm going to wake up and need this reminder again.

Lake Tahoe II

While on summer project in Tahoe, I didn't have a car to get around town or to my job (which was Jamba Juice by the way. oh how I loved it).  Thus, a lot of us bought, or brought used bicycles.  I bought a very old $35 beach cruiser.  Her name was Chromey and she looked just like the above bike.  I loved her so dearly.  In fact, many of the students on project loved her.  There was just something special about her.  One day I was sort of sad that I hadn't received any mail at the camp yet, and my friend Julie (or Christie.. I think Julie, though) on project bought me a bell and mailed it to the campground.  It was a pink bell that I still have and now have on my brand new beach cruiser.
